A great getaway spot at Seraya Bali

It will take forty minutes drive from Candidasa over a twisty and very narrow mountain road to Seraya. And there you will find a beautiful little hideaway hotel, Seraya Shores at Barat region in Bali

Set right on the rocky beach, Seraya Shores has four villas built in true Bali style. Don’t expect air conditioning & television in here because this place is not about modern luxuries. The rooms have fans & some have open bamboo slats for natural airing. Beds are comfortable with mosquito nets. Bathrooms are open and romantic. The views and ocean sounds are incredible.

Seraya Shores is owned by an Australian couple and run on a day to day basis with a fantastic Indonesia team, all of them are Balinese.

There is also an infinity pool, and everything is so blue you really can’t tell where the ocean meets the pool. And don’t forget about the food which is also fantastic.

With a few cliff edges to fall off this area is certainly not a child friendly kind of place but certainly a great weekend getaway or honeymoon spot.

The Big Retreat in Bali, the Island of Paradise

The day having a spa in Bali’s luxury hotel is simply unspoken. But a hotel is still a hotel. And a spa is still a spa.

“We deliberately call ourselves a health and well-being retreat,” said David Haughton, a meditative spa consultant from Australia. With his help the elite property has graced the pages of some of regions’ and the world’s most respected publications like Vogue Australia, Spa Asia and many others. Lot’s of resorts in Bali have spas added on as their facilities and marketing power. However we wanted to define ourselves differently. We are a wellness retreat, a sanctuary if you will where people can find true seclusion and peace of mind; where they can focus purely on rejuvenation their mental and physical health it’s more that just relaxation.

Almost every resort on the island somewhere in its promotional literature will promise at some point to give ‘peace of mind,’ rejuvenation and relaxation. And perhaps all of them do deliver to varying degrees. However, so far that I observed Bagus Jati is one of the few places that can really fulfill the promise.

Bagus Jati’s eight circular villas, positioned strategically along narrow, forested paths, are arranged to achieve total privacy. In fact, if you chose, you could quite easily spend your entire stay film-star-like without ever really seeing another guest. “We see our share of burnt-out professionals here,” informed David. “They can stay for anything from a few days to an entire month. We look at is as kind of maintenance for your body and soul. We’re not as strict as some of the other retreats, like Thailand’s China Som for example.

If you want to have a drink, this place will provide it. If you want us to help you undertake a healthier regime, we can do that too. Our detoxify programs are proving to be very popular and we are now working with a very experienced Australian acupuncture therapist. Acupuncture can be helpful for everything from migraines to arthritis, fatigue and even decreased libido. Asia has such a rich tradition of rehabilitative therapies which makes them a natural choice for us to offer here.

The longest point break in Bali: the ideal place for beginner and amateur surfers

Medewi, a remote place I mentioned in my previous posting, apparently has the longest point break in Bali. Sometimes the wave rolls gently for 200 or even 400 meters long.

It works best at mid to high tide on a two meter high sell. On bigger swells, a right hand breaking peak breaks in the middle of the bay straight in front of traditional fishing.

A five hundred meter walk south of the main point break will lead you to the Pulukan River mouth, a thrilling fast breaking right hander that, although visible from the main Bali-Java road, seems to miss the crowds.

As in the case everywhere in Bali, the locals are friendly both in and out of the surf. As a bonus, Medewi’s spectacular sunsets and cool and quite tropical evenings add a touch of glamour. In the end, Medewi is a solitary traveler’s kind of place and in absolutely in no danger of becoming a hot spot.

If you finally come to Medewi, you may choose some place to stay. As far as I can remember, the largest accommodation is at Medewi Beach Cottages. You can reach that place from the number 0365-40029/40030. Or if you like, the cheapest place to stay is the family run Warung & Homestay Gede, but I don’t have their number.

The beach consists of a stretch of huge smooth grey rocks with some sandy patches. The current is light and the waves probably the easiest on Bali, ideal for beginner and amateur surfers.

Are you looking for a surfer paradise in a tiny and remote place in Bali?

If you drive down to the west along the Jembrana coast you will get to Medewi, a tiny and remote tourist destination in Bali. Situated about 75 kilometers from Denpasar or 34 kilometers west of Tabanan, Medewi is actually one of Bali’s premier surf spots.

This place has become a kind of paradise for surfer from Japan and Australia. They usually come to Medewi for surfing because the rocky beach there is not suitable for sunbathing or swimming.

Medewi is quite far from Kuta and you will find no nightclub or bars atmosphere like those at Kuta.

The best time for surf is early in the morning before the wind picks up, and the biggest waves are usually come in August where most fishermen there don’t dare to go out to the sea.

Hanging out at Kuta Sidewalk in Kuta Bali

Kuta Sidewalk is located right next to Kuta Square and being a place for many café and restaurants along its sidewalks.

You will meet many people here from around the world. Beautiful girls are everywhere for your eyes to see. Unluckily they usually come with their father or husband or at least with a boyfriend.

There are several places I recommend you to see. Stadium café is one cool place to hang out. This café provides you with big screen television where you can watch sports program. This cozy place is also completed with the cook that is also delicious. Or if you like to play pool this place also has that facility where you can play for free, as long as you order food and drink off course.

At peak season this place is crowded with many tourists from Australia. It’s just fun to see Australian babes hanging out together watching sports program while having diner and cheerful talks. If you get lucky and have quite a gut, you might get a chance to know them.

Other places where you can visit are Bluefin, Japanese Fusion and Wine Lounge.

Kuta Sidewalk is really an interesting place to go whenever you visit Bali. Enjoy your vacation have a nice traveling around Bali Island.
