More on Bali Elephants Park

I have told you about this interesting adventure park in Bali in my previous posting. But do you know that each elephant has its own name in Bali Elephants Park? They even have playful character and individual temperament. This is very interesting right?! Visitors like you may pet and have their photos taken with these delightful creatures.

High wooden platforms and sturdy tubular steel railings make mounting these animals easy and safe. Accompanied by trainers, the visitor sits high a top the pachyderms in a teak wood saddle for a 30 minute circuit which meanders over meadows and through the Bali forests and shady coconut groves. Riders have a unique perspective in which to view their surroundings.

Naturally playful, inquisitive, with a keen sense of smell, it is fascinating to watch the beasts interacting with their trainers. The younger elephants often disregard instruction and flail their trunks, emerge splashing from the pool or sneak over to munch on a patch of green grass while their trainer is not looking.

In the park’s one of a kind museum and information center visitors learn about the animal’s ancestry and intra species diversity through historical and cultural exhibits, informative posters, elephant memorabilia and an art gallery of works actually produced by the park’s elephant, and the only full size standing replica of a mammoth skeleton in the Southern Hemisphere.

The Bali Elephant Safari Park conforms to international standards of an environmentally friendly theme park. In an effort to conserve the elephant’s native habitat, a percentage of its profits is put towards elephant conservation.
