Rare bird at Bali Bird Park

The highlight for this spring is definitely the four baby Bali Starlings. This bird is the only endemic bird to the island of Bali and is on the brink of extinction in the wild caused by illegal poaching.

Usually Bali Starlings only produce two or three babies in a nest so it is particularly exciting to see four babies from one parent pair.

The babies are being reared by the parents on large quantities of crickets and mealworms along with their daily diet of fruits and ants.

The Jalak Bali family can be seen by visitors every day at the Bali Bird Park and are even showing signs of building anew nest and starting another family already.
